Krewella (sisters Yasmine and Jahan Yousaf) have always approached their EDM with a knack for a pop hook. Because let’s be real, their track “Alive” could’ve been a monster hit by any big-name pop act. So it’s not surprising that the sisters have lent their talents to a freshly released compilation album called disCOVERED, vol. 1. And as the title suggests, the LP is full of pop covers, featuring artists like CeeLo Green, Adventure Club and Parachute.
But it’s Krewella’s take on Bazzi’s smash hit “Mine” that’s definitely worthy of repeat spins. As you’d expect, the duo have given the track some extra electronic energy, trading the original’s laid-back R&B vibe for a beat that hits harder and a chorus that builds dramatically. The drop even has all the hallmarks of an original Krewella track.
