Kaytranada drops new track “Caution”

He’s also teased remixes for his album ‘Bubba.’

Kaytranada has premiered the new track “Caution” as part of TikTok’s Black History Month initiative.

The hypnotic midtempo track deploys a looping instrumental groove derived from classic disco and funk. Besides “Caution,” TikTok also commissioned Leon Bridges to record a cover of Pastor TL Barrett’s 1971 gospel track “Like a Ship” for its Black History Month celebrations. It has additionally booked Snoop Dogg, Tyga and Ashanti for live concerts spread throughout February.

“Caution” is one of the first tracks to follow the producer’s colossal 2019 album Bubba, which featured Pharrell Williams, Tinashe, GoldLink and Masego, among others.


Bubba has been nominated for the Best Dance Album award at the 63rd Grammy Awards and its single “10%” featuring Kali Uchis is up for Best Dance Recording. The Canadian DJ/producer has also recently teased remixes for Bubba, saying he feels “ready to move on to something new” but nevertheless polling his Twitter followers to see if they’d “still care.”

Last year Kaytranada shared an instrumental version of his sophomore album before following up with remixes of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and Sade’s “Love is Stronger Than Pride.” He also released “Look Easy” with Lucky Daye, which got a cinematic video treatment.
