Jayda G announces new EP with “Both of Us”

Stay home and dance to this new “happy house song.”

Berlin-based producer Jayda G—real name Jayda Guy—has announced her new EP Both of Us / Are U Down by releasing its A-side.

The EP follows Guy’s 2019 album, Significant Changes. “Both of Us” arrived with a music video, directed by Lou Jasmine, that details the kaleidoscopic range of Guy’s life, including glimpses of her energetic club sets with visuals of nature and her life away from the decks.

Guy has been teasing “Both of Us,” which she calls a “happy house song,” in her DJ sets for a while now, leading fans to plead for an official release. “The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” she explained in a statement. “I really wondered if releasing the record right now was the right thing to do. Things can feel really fucking depressing at the moment, but the amount of messages I’ve been getting about the track, even during lockdown when people are unable to even be in clubs or at festivals, that really convinced me that now was the right time.”

Besides “Both of Us” and “Are U Down,” the EP will also include Guy’s “sunset bliss mix” of the former and a remix of the latter. The release is a collaboration with Fred Again.., who recently dropped a joint mixtape with Headie One, Gang.
