English band Hot Chip have unveiled “Melody of Love,” the second taste of their forthcoming album, A Bath Full of Ecstasy.
The single, which features a vocal sample from gospel group The Mighty Clouds of Joy, started life as a 12-minute-long instrumental song. But with the help of producer Rodaidh McDonald, Hot Chip transformed the track into a euphoric dance pop track that features psychedelic synths and disco influences.
“The song is about the importance of the transformative, non-verbal moment,” the band explained in a press statement. “Ecstasy as personal happiness, but also of transcendence, of being outside oneself.”
“Melody of Love” follows their earlier release, “Hungry Child.” Both songs will be included on their upcoming LP, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, due out on June 21.
