Hear Purity Ring remix “Knife Prty” from Deftones’ ‘White Pony’

Part of the band’s ‘Black Stallion’ remix album.

Electronic outfit Purity Ring have treated the track “Knife Prty,” from Deftones’ acclaimed 2000 album White Pony, to a spectacular remix.

Purity Ring have taken out the song’s rock fundamentals, isolating Chino Moreno’s distinctive vocals over a glittering, ambitiously sculpted production. It’s the first White Pony rework to be released from the 20th anniversary remix LP aptly titled Black Stallion. Other artists who will contribute to the project include The Cure’s Robert Smith, Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, Salva, Squarepusher, Blanck Mass and Clams Casino.

Black Stallion will be packaged as part of Deftones’ White Pony 20th anniversary reissue. The release will follow the Sacramento band’s September album Ohms. Purity Ring also released a record earlier this year: Womb, their third studio album.
