Cape Town-based electronic musician Angel-Ho has just dropped her new album, Death Becomes Her, on Hyperdub.
The 14-song release features collabs with K Rizzy, fellow South African artist Queezy, Asmara (of Nguzunguzu) and more. Angel-Ho—who raps and sings for the first time on this record—has characterized its sound as “neo-pop.”
“Neo-pop, for me, is about expressing whatever story you want to express in a way that isn’t necessarily aesthetically pop,” she explained to Mixmag. “But what is pop but a catchy lyric or a catchy melody?”
