Haiku Hands unveil self-titled debut album

With features from Sofi Tukker and Mad Zach, among others.

Three years on from their first single, Australian dance music trio Haiku Hands have dropped their self-titled debut album.

Haiku Hands have created a rich, textural experience on their diverse LP, which collects singles they’ve dropped over the years. “Fashion Model Art,” a collaboration with past tourmates Sofi Tukker, is a tongue-in-cheek track while “Onset” with Mad Zach conjures visions of a heaving festival crowd. The trend continues across Haiku Hands with each track standing out as exciting individual forays into different electronic music realms.

“This album is an opus of discovery,” the group said in a statement. “It maps the finding of our sound, our voices and what we wanted to say. These songs chart some of the very first sessions we ever did where we spent most of the time rolling around on the floor laughing, to the latest sessions where we were so tired and alive from touring and had a more developed sense of what we’re about.”

The road that led to Haiku Hands saw the three-piece deliver commanding sets at Australian festivals Splendour in the Grass, Listen Out and Laneway, as well as performances overseas at SXSW and The Great Escape.
