Gesaffelstein releases first album in over five years, ‘Hyperion’

The DJ-producer’s sophomore effort features The Weeknd, Pharrell Williams and Haim.

Gesaffelstein—real name Mike Lévy—has made a comeback with his sophomore album, Hyperion, the French electronic maestro’s first full body of work since 2013.

The broody ten-track album stays true to his dark techno roots, with tracks like “Reset” and “Vortex,” while still appealing to commercial sensibilities. Lévy enlists the help of big-name collaborators including Pharrell Williams and Haim, as well as The Weeknd on the previously released single, “Lost in the Fire.” The record also features appearances from fellow French producer The Hacker and Bronwyn Griffin of Electric Youth.
