Flying Lotus shares trippy video for “Remind U”

The latest ‘Flamagra’ visual.

Flying Lotus—real name Steven Ellison—has revisited his 2019 album, Flamagra, with a psychedelic video for “Remind U.”

The animated clip was directed by Ellison’s longtime collaborator Winston Hacking, who also worked on the producer’s 2017 music video for “Post Requisite.” The video for “Remind U” features the same surreal artistic stylings of their previous visual collaborations. It follows a submarine as it floats through space, encountering aliens, therianthropic creatures and other bizarre beings.

In a press release, Hacking said that the video “recreates the perspective of a curious child” who has built a world that is “ugly and chaotic but, simultaneously, beautiful and hopeful.”

Earlier in May, Flying Lotus celebrated the one-year anniversary of Flamagra with a deluxe edition of the album. The expanded version included instrumentals of the Little Dragon-assisted “Spontaneous,” “Yellow Belly” with Tierra Whack, “Black Balloons Reprise” featuring Denzel Curry and more.
