Flume shares feature-heavy ‘Hi This is Flume’ mixtape

JPEGMAFIA, slowthai, Kučka and more appear on the Australian’s newest project.

After taking a hiatus from music and touring, Flume has returned with a brand-new mixtape, Hi This is Flume, his first original offering since 2017’s Skin Companion II EP.

On the 17-track project, the Australian beatmaker mostly stays within his future bass lane. On songs like “Wormhole” and “71m3,” however, Flume experiments with IDM and glitch music, styles he touched briefly on his Grammy-winning Skin album. Other tracks featured on the mixtape include the JPEGMAFIA-assisted “How to Build a Relationship” and a remix of SOPHIE’s 2018 hit, “Is it Cold in the Water?”

In a tweet, Flume described the project as a “mixtape with some of my favorite artists,” including slowthai, Eprom and HWLS. Frequent collaborator Kučka also contributed to the project.
