Floating Points shares ambient new single “Anasickmodular”

His sophomore album, ‘Crush,’ is due out later this month.

Floating Points—aka producer Sam Shepherd—has released “Anasickmodular,” the latest track from his forthcoming album, Crush.

The glitchy track’s “main pad audio and vocals” are derived from an improvised performance at Dekmantel festival in 2017, the producer revealed in a statement. The other half came about when Shepherd was on tour in Sydney and had a day off: “Anna [half of the Hamill Industries team responsible for laser projects in Floating Points shows] was ill so… I started a new project bringing the modular out of its box, hence the [song’s] title.”

Crush is Shepherd’s first studio album since his 2015 debut, Elaenia. The record, which arrives October 18, will also feature the previously released tracks “Last Bloom” and “LesAlpx.”
