Excision teams up with Illenium for “Gold (Stupid Love)”

There’s nothing stupid about loving this track, though.

EDM heavyweights Excision and Illenium have been teasing a collaboration for a while now. At this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, the two debuted “Gold (Stupid Love),” exciting fans with their joint project. And the wait for an official release is over—because it’s finally here.

Featuring the vocals of Shallows, “Gold (Stupid Love)” starts off with a hazy, mid-tempo rhythm. “Two choices on my mind / Four hours on the road / Give way to control,” Shallows purrs on the opening before surging into the bridge. By the time the chorus hits, the track is ready to land a hard-hitting, bass-heavy drop that’s almost deafening.

“Gold (Stupid Love)” combines the best bits of Excision and Illenium’s signature sound with Shallow’s unforgettable vocal hooks. Is it stupid that we love it? Not at all.
