The world’s favorite  French selector, DJ Snake, has just dropped a new track that embraces far-flung sounds: “Maradona Riddim.”

With the world crazy for ethnic rhythms at the moment, the “Middle” music-maker fully embraces diversity on his latest track, an adaptation of Niniola’s “Maradona,” which topped the South African charts in 2017. For those unfamiliar with the Nigerian singer-songwriter, she was the third runner-up of the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa, and is known for her unique blend of Afrobeat and house music.

“My friend told me about ‘Maradona,’” DJ Snake said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “I hit up Niniola and Sarz (the song’s producer) straight away and put a hook on it to bring it to my world.”

It’s a flavor DJ Snake clearly adores. So much so, he actually doesn’t do too much to alter its laid-back tune but shapes it with more prominent bass beats and synths to make it perfect for a beach club party.
