Dillon Francis, Alison Wonderland drop chaotic “Lost My Mind”

Ahead of their upcoming joint tour.

Last Friday, Dillon Francis and Alison Wonderland unveiled their newest collab, “Lost My Mind.” The result? Absolute chaos.

The song is mild at first, Wonderland’s honeyed vocals entering while the trap-heavy production rumbles beneath. “Can’t sleep at night, not breathing right / Trying to find where I lost my mind,” the Australian DJ sings on the pre-chorus. Right then, the track’s atmospheric buildup cuts abruptly and a crash of hand claps and electro bass come tumbling through, the track not letting up until it ends.

In a tweet last week, Francis explained the collaboration’s rather interesting backstory. The EDM heavyweights, upon discovering their shared Croatian heritage (Francis is “half Croatian/Serbian”), had bonded over last year’s World Cup. “We were rooting for our little country who were the biggest underdogs ever,” he wrote. “Croatia made it to the finals against France so Alison and I made a deal on Twitter: ‘If Croatia wins, we make a happy song. If they lose we make a sad angry song.’ The latter of the two happened and we started working.”

The song was released ahead of their upcoming joint Lost My Mind tour, which kicks off this Thursday in Wisconsin. The month-long trek of North America will include stops in Texas, Ohio and Maine. More details here.
