Caribou shares “Never Come Back” from new LP

‘Suddenly’ is due out next month.

Caribou—aka Dan Snaith—has released “Never Come Back,” another new single from his upcoming album, Suddenly.

Snaith’s latest track, which follows earlier singles “Home” and “You and I,” glimmers with his signature indie electronic sound. Percussive elements quickly succeed each other in a progressive race from the verses into the chorus: “And you never come back / And you never come back to.” Between the warbling synth lines and the airy falsetto verses, Snaith deftly produces a laid-back house track that showcases Suddenly’s sound.

“‘Never Come Back’ was the first track from Suddenly that I finished,” Snaith explained in a statement. “It came together very quickly and was one of those tracks that is a lot fun to make. As soon as I landed on the main synthesizer chords and the repeated refrain, the rest came together very quickly and naturally. I felt like it was my job to get out of the way and not over complicate or over think it. Sometimes the best pleasures are the simple ones.”

Suddenly will be released February 28 via Merge Records. Listen to “Never Come Back” here:
