BRONSON tap Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs for “Dawn”

The Golden Features and Odesza members’ first project as BRONSON is out soon.

BRONSON, the new group of Odesza’s Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight alongside Golden Features’ Tom Stell, have released “Dawn,” a new single featuring Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs producer Orlando Higginbottom sings over a cinematic seven-minute score on “Dawn.” The song switches gears by situating bursts of syncopated percussion and dark synth waves reminiscent of the Golden Features sound between pockets of introspection.

“Creatively, we respect Orlando so much,” BRONSON said in a statement. “When we started the writing process for ‘Dawn,’ it was with the intent to fill in the gap of what was missing on the record. We came to him with an initial idea for the track, and in turn, he listened to parts of the record, made sense of its themes both sonically and conceptually and started to write over what became what ‘Dawn’ is now.

“Not only do the lyrics provide this renewed sense of hope, but his vocals compliment the tone and energy of the song perfectly—‘Dawn’ is a song meant to take you on a journey and explore various concepts and emotions of the record. We couldn’t think of a more fitting song to end the album with.”

Their new single follows the double-release of “Heart Attack” featuring lau.ra and “Vaults.” The three tracks are taken from BRONSON’s self-titled debut album, due out on August 7. The record took shape over numerous FaceTime calls and Dropbox collaborations between Odesza and Golden Features over the course of three years.
