Black Coffee has finally released his second album, Subconsciously.

This record from the South African DJ and producer has been a long time coming. It’s the follow-up to his 2016 debut Pieces of Me and collect singles dating back to 2018, including “Wish You Were Here” featuring Msaki and “SBCNCSLY” with Sabrina Claudio.

Also on the record are “10 Missed Calls” featuring Pharrell Williams and Jozzy, “You Need Me” featuring Maxine Ashley, “LaLaLa” featuring Usher and “Never Gonna Forget,” a collab with Diplo and Elderbrook.

On this record, Black Coffee—real name Nathi Maphumulo—pushed himself to explore styles outside his comfort zone. “Subconsciously is the first album where I’ve stepped outside of the house music-only approach whilst still remaining true to my roots,” he told Forbes. “I still have my rhythms and I have my people on the album, and we all move together with the common goal of presenting who we are without trying to be anyone else.”
