AlunaGeorge return with ‘Champagne Eyes’

With guest spots from Baauer, Cautious Clay and Bryson Tiller.

AlunaGeorge’s new EP, Champagne Eyes, is out now.

The lustrous, diverse six-track EP is notably the British electronic duo’s first independent release—they departed Universal Music after their last release, the 2016 album I Remember.

“We love melody and a good beat, and more recently we realized we’re really not straightforward pop artists,” singer-songwriter Aluna Francis said of their split from the label to Billboard. “We’ve always kind of been genre-less, so there was no reason for us to start trying to be in a genre.”

AlunaGeorge’s refusal to be pigeonholed is clear from the varied guest appearances on the EP: The title track features Baauer of “Harlem Shake” fame, rising soul singer Cautious Clay on “Superior Emotion,” and young R&B star Bryson Tiller on “Cold Blooded Creatures.”
