Wynonna Judd is “Feeling Good” about the future

The country veteran feels rejuvenated after leaving her longtime home, Curb Records.

It’s a new dawn, a new day and a new life for Wynonna Judd. The Grammy-winning artist has released an a cappella cover of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” after signing to the indie label, Anti- Records.

Despite clocking in at just under a minute, the singer’s raw cover of the jazz standard reminds fans why Rolling Stone once dubbed her “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline.” Recorded on an iPhone in her living room, the unfiltered, unedited rendition of the song is an exciting glimpse of what’s to come from the revitalized veteran.

“It’s kind of my battle cry for 2019,” Judd said. “I am determined to march into this new season with a sense of pure determination, not from arrogance, but from confidence knowing that I have a gift, and I know how to use it.”

The country singer is currently at work on a fresh LP, her ninth overall. Her previous studio album, 2016’s Wynonna & the Big Noise, was released by her former label, Curb Records.
