Country music legend Loretta Lynn has shared the video for her latest single, “Ain’t No Time to Go”—and it’s all ’bout the good vibes.
Filmed at the singer’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, the clip features the 86-year-old and her band on her porch as they jam out to the cheerful folk tune, providing the music for a mass line-dancing session. “Stay with me, a little bit longer / Ain’t got no time to go darlin’,” she croons.
The upbeat song actually has a poignant emotional undertone. Last year, Lynn suffered from a stroke and broke her hip, which forced her out of the limelight. Her recovery inspired “Ain’t No Time to Go,” a song about mortality and the reasons to stay alive.
“I loved writing this song, ‘Ain’t No Time to Go,’ with my daughter Patsy about not wanting to let go of those you love,” Lynn wrote on Facebook. “It took on new meaning after my stroke. I wasn’t ready to go and still got a lot of living to do!”
“Ain’t No Time to Go” will feature on Lynn’s upcoming album, Wouldn’t it be Great, which arrives this Friday, via Sony Legacy.
