Blake Shelton recently appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform his latest single, “Turnin’ Me on.”
The country singer, accompanied by his band and backup vocalists, launched into the “song he sings to Gwen Stefani every night,” as DeGeneres dubs. “Her kisses taste like whiskey / Burning through my veins,” he crooned on the opening, all while looking sharp in a denim outfit. Shelton delivered vocals that were crisp and clear, as expected from the The Voice coach, and didn’t miss a single beat.
“Turnin’ Me on,” which appears on the singer’s 2017 album, Texoma Shore, is a love song inspired by Shelton’s real-life girlfriend and former Voice judge, Gwen Stefani. According to an interview with Froggy 99.9, Shelton revealed that the track was by far the most “personal” song he’s ever written.
