Walker McGuire announce surprise split

The band have yet to explain what will happen to their scheduled tour dates.

Country duo Walker McGuire—aka Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire—took their fans by surprise when they announced their break-up last week.

“We regret to inform everyone we’ve decided to end Walker McGuire. We want to thank everyone for their support and for following us on our journey the last five + years,” they wrote on Instagram and Facebook. The band’s social media accounts will be deactivated soon, the posts added.


Fans were perplexed and upset by the news. Some pleaded the duo to keep the social media accounts for old times’ sake, while others asked what will happen to their remaining tour dates.

Since this announcement, Johnny McGuire has revealed that he will pursue a solo career. The singer posted a new photo to his own social media, announcing new music coming soon.
