Tyler Childers teases forthcoming album with new single, “House Fire”

His major label debut, ‘Country Squire,’ arrives in August.

Tyler Childers has released “House Fire,” the lead single from his forthcoming album, Country Squire.

The banjo-heavy country folk song was released alongside a fiery video. In the clip, a couple dance to Childers’ gravelly vocals while a bonfire burns in the foreground. “You can set my house on fire, baby / You can turn it into cinder and smoke / ’Cause this house is mighty cold and I feel like / Melting all the snow away,” he sings.

“I hope that people in the area that I grew up in find something they can relate to,” Childers, a native of Lawrence County, Kentucky, said in a press release. “I hope that I’m doing my people justice and I hope that maybe someone from somewhere else can get a glimpse of the life of a Kentucky boy.”

Country Squire will be Childers’ major label debut on RCA Records, in collaboration with his own label, Hickman Hollar Records. The LP is due out August 2.
