Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard have issued a call for unity on their new single “Undivided.”
McGraw and Hubbard trade verses as they ask for help from God to reunite the country, pleading with listeners to try and empathize with one another once again. Inspired by the political rifts that have opened up over the last year, “Undivided” arrives at a pivotal time for the US.
Hubbard penned “Undivided” in November after testing positive for COVID-19. The singer finished the track with Chris Locke as he self-isolated in his tour bus, and immediately sent the track over to McGraw.
“The first time I heard it…I knew it was one I wanted to be singing for a long time,” McGraw tweeted. “We got together in the studio last month and created something real special.”
“Undivided” will appear on the deluxe edition of McGraw’s 2020 album Here on Earth, due for release later this year. Hubbard is also set to release an album with Brian Kelley as Florida Georgia Line, previewing the LP with the single “New Truck” earlier this month.
