Alternative country band Son Volt have released Union.
The five-piece outfit get political on the ironically titled 13-track record, which is a response to the fracturing in the US social fabric. They take jabs at the Trump administration on “Lady Liberty” and stand in solidarity with the Occupy movement on “The 99.”
“There are so many forces driving our country apart. What can we do to bring our society back together?” frontman Jay Farrar asked in a statement. “A lot of these songs are songs of turmoil [and] questioning what’s going on,” he added.
