Ruston Kelly drops new song “Pressure”

From his upcoming album, ‘Shape & Destroy.’

Ruston Kelly has released a brand-new song, “Pressure.”

The pensive tune, solely written by Kelly, intimately chronicles his struggle through life and all the turmoil that entails. “Feeling comes then it goes / I’m thinking fast, I’m moving slow / Wish I could then I don’t / I probably will, but I hope I won’t / Give into the pressure / All the pressure,” he broods over gentle guitar strums.

“Pressure” will be featured on Kelly’s sophomore album, Shape & Destroy. “Making this record definitely taught me that I don’t want to be selfish,” the South Carolina native said. “I want to channel something larger than myself and give myself to the process as fully as possible, because these songs also become the story of whoever hears them.”

Prior to this, Kelly released the songs “Brave,” “Radio Cloud,” and “Rubber”—all of which will be included on Shape & Destroy. The album is slated to drop on August 28 via Rounder Records.
