Russell Dickerson has released “Never Get Old,” the opening track of his upcoming album Southern Symphony.
The record, which comes three years after the Tennessee artist’s debut album Yours, was recorded in Nashville with frequent collaborator Casey Brown and acclaimed producer Dann Huff—who had actually turned down Dickerson’s request to work together in 2012.
“He said I wasn’t ready yet, so it was cool to come back around full circle,” Dickerson recalled in a statement. “There was so much excitement.”
Dickerson also described Southern Symphony as “real and raw,” explaining that they “weren’t trying to get quirky” and only hoping to make”a bunch of big ole country bangers.”
The album, which is out December 4, will also include a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line titled “It’s About Time.” Stream “Never Get Old” below:
