Florida Georgia Line have released “New Truck,” a single from their upcoming album Life Goes On—and a bizarre lyric video.
The radio-ready track pairs trap-styled electronic beats with the twang of banjos to further Florida Georgia Line’s bro-country subgenre. The lyric video depicts a hapless salesman trying his darndest to sell beat-up yellow truck in an infomercial while quirky prospective customers watch.
“With ‘New Truck’ we were like, ‘Man, this feels good. I just want to ride around in my truck, listen to this, and have a song to jam to,’” Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard shared in a statement. “When any of our buddies get a new truck now, we can send it to them and say, ‘Yo, bump this in the truck!’”
Out February 12 on Big Machine, Life Rolls On will be Florida Georgia Line’s follow-up to their 2019 record Can’t Say I Ain’t Country. It will feature all songs from their 2020 EP 6-Pack, as well as the previously released single “Long Live.”
The duo of Hubbard and Brian Kelley will then spend 2021 working on their own respective solo projects. Last year, break-up rumors swirled around Florida Georgia Line, with fans speculating that they would split over political differences. The duo quashed the rumors, and were quick to note again that their solo projects don’t mean the band is over. “We’re not breaking up, we’re just venturing out,” they said on Twitter.
