Morgan Wallen makes a confession on “More Than My Hometown”

From his upcoming sophomore record.

Morgan Wallen has released an introspective new tune, “More Than My Hometown.”

The mid-tempo track, co-written by Wallen with Michael Hardy and Ryan Vojtesak, details a young couple’s love for each other—but with a twist. It starts off sweet like a typical love song, until the protagonist realizes he loves his hometown too much to simply pack up and move with his partner.

“I love you more than the feeling when the bass hits the hook / When the guy gets the girl at the end of the book / But, baby, this might be the last time I get to lay you down / ’Cause I can’t love you more than my hometown,” the Tennessee native confesses on the chorus.

“More Than My Hometown” follows the release of Wallen’s December single, “This Bar”. The singer recently tweeted that his new album is expected out this year via Big Loud Records.
