The country singer took to the stage in a hot pink jumpsuit, kicking things off with a feisty rendition of “Mess with My Head.” “I let you mess with my, mess with my head / I let you mess with my, mess with my bed / Waking up to a wreck with blue jeans on the floor / If it ain’t love then I like it better than before,” she sang over bluesy electric guitar and pedal steel.
Lambert returned later with an uplifting performance of “Bluebird.” On the breezy song, Lambert sings of keeping the faith despite life’s challenges: “And if the whole wide world stops singing / And all the stars go dark / I’ll keep a light on in my soul / Keep a bluebird in my heart.”
Besides “Mess With My Head” and “Bluebird,” Lambert’s Wildcard also features tracks such as “It All Comes Out in the Wash” and the Maren Morris-assisted “Way Too Pretty for Prison.” The record, which arrived last Friday, is the singer’s first solo full-length since 2016’s The Weight of These Wings.
