Midland want you to “Put the Hurt on Me”

The trio continue to tease their sophomore album.

Country trio Midland are back with slow-burning honky-tonk tune, “Put the Hurt on Me.”

Written by the band, with the help of Nashville songwriters Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, the song tells the story of a love so good that it hurts. Midland harmonize over an atmospheric soundscape of bluesy electric guitars, pedal steel and percussion. “Kill me softly baby with your kiss / If I go I wanna go like this / Come on be as cruel as you can be / Yeah, baby put the hurt on me,” they sing.

“Put the Hurt on Me” is the second single from Midland’s forthcoming album, Let it Roll, following “Mr Lonely.” The record is due out August 23 via Big Machine.
