Americana-country artist Margo Price has released “Twinkle Twinkle,” a new song off her upcoming third studio album, That’s How Rumors Get Started.
The record, produced by Sturgill Simpson, also marks Price’s debut project with Loma Vista Recordings, label home to Iggy Pop, Soccer Mommy, Marilyn Manson and more.
“I feel like it’s been a long time coming… I had a baby and felt like I fell off the face of the earth for a while. We live in strange times but I hope this brings a little light to the dark corners of the world,” Price shared on the forthcoming LP.
Price also debuted the vibrant music video for “Twinkle Twinkle,” a song accompanying the singer’s narration on the almost-torturous life journey to fame. The angsty, rock-leaning tune was inspired by an honest conversation Price had with country music legend Marty Stuart about the pains and realities of being a touring artist.
“Now everything’s a little upside down / They wanna put me on a big TV / Everybody wants to know / How I feel and what I think / How I feel and what I think / If it don’t break you / It might just make you rich,” Price quips.
That’s How Rumors Get Started arrives May 8. Watch the “Twinkle Twinkle” music video below.
