Maren Morris teams up with Hozier for “The Bones” remix

A moving country duet.

Maren Morris has enlisted Irish singer Hozier for a new version of her song, “The Bones.”

The duo transform the track into a soulful duet, trading verses about holding on to love through hard times. They come together during the chorus, harmonizing over dramatic drum beats and electric guitars: “When the bones are good, the rest don’t matter / Yeah, the paint could peel, the glass could shatter / Let it rain ’cause you and I remain the same / When there ain’t a crack in the foundation.”

“Hozier’s soul and vulnerability is so arresting and fit so well with the foundational theme of my song, ‘The Bones,’” Morris said in a statement. “I feel so grateful to have him on it.”

The original version of “The Bones” features on Morris’ latest album, Girl. The record also includes the empowering title track and the Brandi Carlile-assisted “Common.” She recently collaborated with Miranda Lambert on “Way Too Pretty for Prison.”
