Maren Morris releases “Just for Now,” “Takes Two”

The first new songs since her 2019 album, ‘Girl.’

Maren Morris has released two brand-new songs, “Just for Now” and “Takes Two.”

The groovy first track was initially recorded for Morris’ 2017 debut album Hero. It was co-written with her husband Ryan Hurd and longtime friend and collaborator Busbee, who tragically passed away from cancer last year. “Takes Two,” on the other hand, was recorded for her 2019 album Girl. The sultry love song was penned by the same team behind “Girl”—Morris, Sarah Aarons and Greg Kurstin.

“During this time off the road, I had the opportunity to polish up 2 older songs of mine that I couldn’t wait for you to hear,” Morris shared on Instagram.

Girl has spawned two number one hits so far, its title track and “The Bones.” The latter single became her first multi-week number one on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Earlier in March, Morris and Hurd also welcomed their first child, Hayes Andrew Hurd.
