Maggie Rose covers The Box Tops’ “The Letter”

The song closes her latest album, ‘Change the Whole Thing.’

Grammy-winning songwriter and country singer Maggie Rose has released a video for her cover of The Box Tops’ “The Letter.”

The clip captures the singer recording the classic hit with her ‘family band,’ which is made up of her touring musicians and members of Nashville band Them Vibes. Rose’s bluesy, rock ’n’ roll rendition of the track closes her latest record, Change the Whole Thing.

The LP, which was released last September, was recorded live without overdubs or studio manipulation. “Before, I had a staff of 18 people who really needed to make it work because otherwise the promotion department would fall apart,” she told Rolling Stone. “That’s not the way you should make music. [Change the Whole Thing] was a rejection of all that.”
