Luke Combs shares an acoustic version of “I Got Away with You”

A refreshed cut from his critically acclaimed debut album.

One year on, and Luke Combs is still riding high on the success of his platinum-certified debut full-length, This One’s for You. To continue celebrating its record-breaking triumph, the country breakout star has released an acoustic arrangement of “I Got Away with You,” one of his personal favorites from the record.

Stripped of any flourishes and percussion, the rework packs a whole lot of emotion: Combs’ husky vocals convey the romantic ballad’s passionate lyrics. “I’ll take it all, the fails, the falls / The county jails and one phone calls / I’d do it all again if I had to,” he sings on the bridge while strumming on an acoustic guitar solo.

In other news, Combs will hit the road early next year for his first-ever headlining tour. Titled Beer Never Broke My Heart, the five-month-long trek kicks off in January in Birmingham, Alabama. Who knows, if you’re lucky, you might even get to experience Combs’ performance of “I Got Away with You” live. More info here.
