Love & Theft drop new song, “You Didn’t Want Me”

The country duo sing about an ex-lover on their latest single.

Stephen Liles and Eric Gunderson of Love & Theft have just shared their newest single, “You Didn’t Want Me”—and it’s a total bop.

Co-written by Liles and Gunderson with the help of Grammy-nominated songwriter, Tami Latrell, the song is an upbeat modern country tune that details a common problem: an ex who just can’t seem to move on. “You didn’t want me, you didn’t want me / Don’t make this any harder than it needs to be / You wanted to be free / Now you’re wishing it was you and me,” the pair sing.

“We wrote this record in 2012 at an impromptu studio session in LA,” Latrell wrote on Genius. “Moral of the story is, trust the timing of classic songs, they will always find a home.”
