Little Big Town have unveiled “Nightfall,” the dreamy title track of their forthcoming ninth studio album.

The laid-back love song was co-written by member Karen Fairchild, who also provides lead vocals, alongside Grammy-winning producer Daniel Tashian and singer Fancy Hagood. “Turn the lights down, we can watch the stars crawl / You and I fall, baby, when the night falls / Throw a spark, we can shine underneath it all / You and I fall, baby, when the night falls,” she sings over her bandmates’ backing harmonies.

“I love dusk, that’s my favorite time of day,” Fairchild said of the song, according to the Tennessean. “Then the romantic things happen at night. The chaos, the crazy when we’d drink too much and we have a good time, happens at night. And then the loneliness for people and the questions and the self-reflection often comes at night.”

Besides “Nightfall,” Little Big Town’s new album will also feature the songs “The Daughters,” “Over Drinking” and “Sugar Coat.” Nightfall arrives this Friday via Capitol Records.
