Keith Urban has shared a new song “Change Your Mind,” from his upcoming album The Speed of Now, Part One.
The track was offered to the country musician by pop songwriters Matthew Koma and Fransisca Hall. On it, Urban looks back at a failed relationship, regretting his wrongdoings while wondering if his former flame has changed since.
“So you changed your world / You changed your hair and the clothes you wear / And your pillow’s side / You changed your number and got some friends / That I don’t recognize,” he sings on the chorus.
“Change Your Mind” is the latest preview of The Speed of Now, following “Polaroid” and “Superman.” According to Urban, the album’s title came to him back in October 2019 when “life was flying by so fast.”
“But music has always been the place where it slows down and doesn’t even exist,” he explained in a YouTube video. “I would never have imagined that, in 2020, this album title would take on a whole new meaning and yet somehow still feel so incredibly relevant.”
The Speed of Now, Part One arrives September 18. Check out “Change Your Mind” below:
