Following the success of his hit “Rumor” and the Carly Pearce duet “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” Lee Brice is back with another new song, “One of Them Girls.”
The uptempo tune was co-written by Brice, who was inspired to breathe life into the reflective thoughts he had while being surrounded by family. Wanting to build on his ideas, the singer called for an impromptu songwriting session at 2am with co-writers Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson and Ben Johnson.
“I just love that the title could easily come across with a negative connotation at first,” said Brice in a press release. “But, it’s so very much about that girl that all of us—deep down, at the end of the day, at the end of our lives—really hope to have loving us.”
The accompanying music video salutes a strong woman who balances her social life, single-mom commitments and job as a firefighter. At the end of the visual, we see our protagonist save a man from his overturned vehicle before it goes up in flames.
Brice’s upcoming as-yet-untitled studio album is set to drop later this year.
