Lauren Alaina has dropped her latest EP, Getting Good, which gives listeners a peek into her roller coaster life over the last few years.

The EP features six songs: three brand-new traditional-leaning ones and three other previously released tracks, including lead single “Getting Good” and the emotional tribute to her late step-father, “The Other Side.”

“These six songs are my heart! This music shows the ups and downs,” the 25-year-old wrote on Instagram. “These songs are my heartbreaks, my inspiration, new love and loss. I hope you love them.”

In an interview with The Boot last month, Alaina further opened up about the authenticity of her songs, and how it’s truly been about her life. “Let me tell you: I am going through break-ups. I am going through all kinds of stuff. I lost my stepdad. I had an eating disorder for six years. These are the kinds of things that I write about because I want people to know that, at the end of the day, I am a normal person.”
