Kelsea Ballerini announces album with new version of “Club”

The stripped-down ‘Ballerini’ is a companion to March’s ‘Kelsea.’

Kelsea Ballerini has announced her new album, Ballerini, with a fresh version of “Club.”

While the original song—a cut from March’s Kelsea—featured an upbeat, radio-friendly production, this toned-down version emphasizes the track’s melancholic undertones. “I don’t wanna go to the club / I don’t wanna watch everybody around me try to hook up,” she sings on the chorus, over dramatic piano chords.

This reimagined “Club” will feature on the country singer’s upcoming record, Ballerini. The new LP, which arrives September 11, will feature stripped-down versions of songs from Kelsea.

Kelsea is glitter: bold and effervescent and dreams that are boundless. She’s who I want to be. While Ballerini is emotional, vulnerable, soft: observes her surroundings and chooses her words carefully. She’s who I am,” Ballerini said in a statement.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the singer’s video for Kelsea cut “Hole in the Bottle.” Listen to the new version of “Club” below:
