Keith Urban has released a new version of his May single “We Were,” featuring co-writer Eric Church.

The rework features vocal contributions from Church, who takes the helm on the second verse and provides backing vocals during the chorus. “We were gonna make it, weren’t we, baby? / Had it all laid out in our mind / By the time we knew time was runnin’ out / We’d both run out of time,” he sings.

“I heard that my buddy Eric was a writer on ‘We Were,’ so I thought, ‘Hey, what a cool opportunity for people to get to hear a writer singing,’” Urban said in a press release. “I think this guy could be really big.”

Urban previously dropped a video for “Drop Top,” featuring Kassi Ashton. On the other hand, Church released a visual for “Some of it,” a cut from his 2018 album Desperate Man, back in May.
