Joy Williams confronts prejudice in “Front Porch” MV

Get your tissues ready, this one’s a tearjerker.

Joy Williams has released a heartbreaking video for “Front Porch.”

The clip chronicles the lives of an interracial couple in the ’60s and portrays the challenges they face from prejudice intercut with moments of joy. Unfortunately, the pair are ultimately torn apart in the end by the harsh world they live in.

“When I think of a front porch, I think of welcoming and being welcomed—shoes off, no pretense, no rush, nothing to prove,” Williams told Billboard. “Sitting back, letting people see the bumps and bruises life brings sometimes and letting yourself be really seen.”
