What do you get when you combine two of the biggest names in country music? “Drown the Whiskey,” the latest single from Jason Aldean’s Rearview Town LP, which features none other than Miranda Lambert.
The mid-tempo track sees the pair leaning into their old-school country roots. There’s a laid-back twang to the whole sound, a shout-out to Tennessee, and some serious steel guitar throughout, too. “Whiskey’s supposed to drown the memory / I’ve gone from one to one too many,” Aldean laments on the catchy chorus, while Lambert harmonises in her distinct croon over the top.
It’s the second track to be released from Aldean’s eighth studio album, after the smash hit “You Make It Easy.” And it’s also the latest taste of new music from Lambert after she released “Keeper of the Flame” a few months back.
