Jake Owen wants you to get “Down to the Honkytonk”

This one’s all about that classic country vibes.

Country singer-songwriter Jake Owen has just released a new single, “Down to the Honkytonk”and as the title suggests, it’s a good ol’ rollin’ and clap-a-long sorta tune.

The single, which follows Owen’s latest smash “I Was Jack (You Were Diane),” hears the singer go back to the traditional country sound. He reminisces about his salad days, but he’s not worried about being too rich or famous. He just wants to have some fun.

“I might not end up in the Hall of Fame / With a star on the sidewalk with my name / Or a statue in my hometown when I’m gone,” he croons over a clap-and-stomp beat on the chorus. “I might not go down in history / But I’ll go down to the honkytonk.”
