Hear Ryan Hurd, Maren Morris’ loved-up duet, “Chasing After You”

The married couple share their first official recording together.

Married country musicians Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris have shared their first official single together, “Chasing After You.”

With overdriven guitars, Hurd adds a rock edge to the heartwarming country pop ballad, which tells the tale of a rocky relationship held together by two lovers obsessed with each other.

“We’ve loved this for five or six years, it’s sort of the demo that wouldn’t quit for us,” Morris shared in an interview with Country Now, adding that the song was written by friends of theirs. “Whether you’ve been with someone for two seconds, or 20 years, you’re always longing for them. I feel like touring and being away from each other gives an element of that, like you’re [Hurd] still chasing me down, I’m chasing you down. So, this song will kind of always be fitting.”

“Chasing After You” follows Morris’ recent collaboration with JP Saxe, “Line by Line,” and her own protest song “Better Than We Found it.” On the other hand, Hurd shared his EP EOM last June.

The song also arrived with a music video directed by TK McKamy, who previously worked with fellow country stars Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line and Reba McEntire. As expected, intimate moments between Morris and Hurd are aplenty in the clip. Watch it here:
