Miranda Lambert has released “Mess With My Head,” another rollicking taste of her as-yet-untitled new album.
If “Mess With My Head” sounds different from Lambert’s older material, that’s because it is. “I wrote it and I loved it, but I wasn’t necessarily positive — could I pull it off and would it sound like me?” she told Rolling Stone. “Not every song you write fits in your wheelhouse. And this one was a little different, but I love it. It’s got the rock ’n’ roll vibe that I crave.”
The track was co-written by Lambert, Nashville songwriter Luke Dick and Highwomen member Natalie Hemby. It was produced by Jay Joyce, who has also worked with Eric Church.
Lambert has yet to announce a title or release date for her new album, though she has released two other tracks, “Locomotive” and “It All Comes Out in the Wash.” While you wait for more details on the record, stream “Mess With My Head” here:
