While stuck in Daytona Beach, Luke Combs has shared a snippet of new track “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old.”
The singer stopped by the Florida city earlier this month to perform ahead of the Daytona 500 NASCAR race on Valentine’s Day. During his set, Combs paid his respects to the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt on the 20th anniversary of his death.
Last week, Combs shared an 80-second snippet of “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” while stranded in Daytona Beach due to heavy rain. “Haven’t been able to get home from Daytona yet because of the weather, so we’re just hanging out and I figured I’d share a new song I’ve been working on with Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder,” he wrote on social media. “It’s called ‘Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old’. What do y’all think?”
“Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” comes a few months after Combs teased another unreleased original, “Ever Mine,” on social media. Earlier this month, he also collaborated with Billy Strings for the song “The Great Divide.”
Combs released his sophomore album What You See is What You Get in late 2019. Last October, he updated the record with a deluxe edition, which added another five new songs to the already substantial 17-track LP.
