Hear Kelly Clarkson’s emotional cover of Lady A’s “Need You Now”

Her latest ‘Kellyoke’ cover.

Kelly Clarkson has released a cover of Lady A’s signature 2009 hit, “Need You Now.”

The pop star performed an emotional rendition of the love song during the latest ‘Kellyoke’ cover segment of her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. With the help of the series’ musical director Jason Halbert, Clarkson transformed the track into a tender piano ballad.

“It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now / Said I wouldn’t call but I’ve lost all control and I need you now / And I don’t know how I can do without / I just need you now,” Clarkson sang on the chorus.

Earlier this year, Clarkson released the song “I Dare You.” Her last studio album, Meaning of Life was released in 2017.

Meanwhile Lady A—formerly known as Lady Antebellum—dropped their last album Ocean in 2019. Earlier this year, the group announced the removal of the word “antebellum” from their name, due to the word’s strong association with pre-Civil War American history.
